Will give my vote to canon powershot sd800is for the*best image quality* and the*Best over all*.
Because the image quality is class-leading (my opinion), and the 28mm wide angle with OIS system All that with other Features putted into a so little stylish body, It's the truly the best of all...
IMO there are too many as it depends on who is using it and for what. Many crack on Phil and Co. for giving good ratings to cameras that obviously have some flaws...but then I agree and see his points in many cases. Even the smallest and cheapest that are out there have uses and good qualities..
I have 12 or so cameras, not all brand new of course, but then there are so many out there that I've not used, it's not fair to them if I don't include them. However, given the choices around, I say Panasonic makes some of the best little P&S cameras out there. Even at the prosumer level, the FZ series, including the 50 is among the best bang for the buck with excellent quality..
Image Quality wise in P&S, Panny has the best quality glass. No CA or Purple fringing and with IS built in, the flexiblity is great..
Best Low Light P&S, definitely FUji in the F series. I have an F20 and it's 2-3 stops better than any other P&S camera..

Ditto..
TZ3 best all around compact 28-280, OIS and good IQF31 best low lightI'd add the Canon S3 as tired with the FZ for the best superzoom...
I just bought both the sd800is and the tz3, I didn't like the tz3 that much. because the exposure isn't that good, most of the picture in nightshot is unexposured. I set the exposure to +2 and still wasn't great at all. the sd 800 doesn't have the great zoom the tz3 has, but it has very good exposure...
I get your point, but I am just looking for some personal opinnion not fact. I know is hard to say which are better when people only have one or two camera in hand...
