True, but i'm seeing price differences of up to 40% for human interaction... A little too much for me .

People cost money, that's a fact, plain and simple. You won't work for nothing, will you? But I have found that buying from a real person, even if it costs more, is well worth the expense if you ever need advice or have problems with the product. Contrast the difference between a real, live, knowledgable salesman with a few years of service behind him at the local photo shop, and a spotty kid on $5/hr manning the 'service' dept telephone at MallWart (or wherever) - which is less hassle for you to deal with? I know where I prefer to shop. As for the money side of the equation, I've found that local stores will usually knock something off the price if I push the point, especially if I tell them I prefer to shop locally, which I do prefer..

In the end though, it's your money. Just remember that when the local guys disappear due to a lack of custom, we'll have none to blame but ourselves..

Thanks. Crutchfieldcanada.com appears to be in the toronto area, so I wouldn't get any face-to-face support, that's for sure. If I'm paying top dollar for support, I'd rather it be somewhere I could physically get to fairly easily. Otherwise, I can always come here for support, which has proven to be an excellent resource! .

I usually go for Kerrisdale Cameras as their prices have been a reasonable compromise between the best online and in-person. Also, I have found their salespeople helpful and willing to go the extra mile for me... They have earned my repeat business..
