Well, depends on what you want to do/use it for? What are your priorities? Those are two *very* different cameras - feature, specification and size wise..

So until you let us know in which situations you want to use the camera, it will be hard to point you to one that might be good for you. This much said, I don't think I would ever recommend the NV10 however. Apart from the slick and sexy design, there little about the camera that others wouldn't do better..

The two cameras a re totally different. Unless you meant the Samsung NV7,which has a fairly long (7x) zoom, though nothing like the 12x of the Canon..

But really, it's like comparing chalk and cheese. One is a fairly big enthusiast's long zoom camera with manual controls and a flip out screen. A terrific camera. The other is just another ordinary little 3x zoom pocket-size Samsung..

The Canon is the better camera, no question, but why these two? What are your priorities?.

Thanks Andrew,.

Yaa I think I have made a mistake comparing these two models , I took my time and looked around for other choices for me.. and to tell you the fact I'm more puzzeled and confused. I have thought about what I need , and then got more into trouble of choosing between a compact model or SLR like cameras..

It's better that I'll put my requirements in front of the experts and I wish that you guys can come up with good optins for me. so putting down straight my requirements.

1. Would be mostly used at home to take my cute little daughters snaps, who moves a lot while we take her snaps( so Image stablization is required)..

2. we dont like to flash her eyes, so It should be able to take snaps in normal room light.3. A good decent zoom..

4. when we go out it should not be a headacke to carry a camera.( but a good SLR look not so bulky camera will also do )5. prices range $300 to $350.

I hope I have made correct choices for my requirements, If I have forgot any other important feature, do remind me..

ThanksAnkit.

Actually, image stabilisation (at least an optical one) won't help. What you need is a fast shutter speed. Without flash, there's only one way to get that and it's by raising ISO. Normally this means grainy photos, but the Fuji F31fd is much better than most at this - most people think that apart from an SLR, it's the best there is in low light..

3. A good decent zoom.4. when we go out it should not be a headacke to carry a camera.( buta good SLR look not so bulky camera will also do ).

The Fuji F31fd, while the obvious choice in some ways, has a 3x zoom. If you want something with a lot more zoom but still reasonably good photos in the situation you describe, the Fuji S6500fd is perhaps the next best, though it is much bigger than the F31fd. It does have 10x zoom though..

Start with these two and see what you think. They're both quite low priced. When looking at Fuji cameras, it's the ones with 6MP that do well. The ones with more tend not to do quite so well so bear this in mind.Androohttp://Androo.smugmug.com..

Hi a million thanks for putting me on track.I have seen the review of both these cameras.yes they fit into my needs. There are still more reservations into my mind about these cameras1, the looks of F31 are not impressive 2. Is 60000fd is also capable of taking snaps in low light,.

3. I have ready on the new that they lags optical image stabilization , so in jerky situations I may not get good clear snaps. may be you can guide me more on this..

4. 60000fd is basically not a point and shoot camera. does that mean it's a difficult camera to operate.thanksAnkit.

Hi Andrew..

Thanks for the wonderful advice.and I have made the my final short-list of the cameras.they are :1. Canon PowerShot SD850 IS2.Canon PowerShot S3 IS3. Fujifilm FinePix F31 fd4. Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd.

I have read the reviews about these models and found them all good.but as you know that two are compact models and other two are SLR like models..

Now according to the requirements I have. I want to ask few questions.and answer to these will freeze my option and I'll finally decide today..

First lets talk about the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS & Fujifilm FinePix F31 fd..

If the Image quality of cannon is better than Fuji, in the normal light then I'll go for Cannon as I liked it's look, plus some extra features ( well certainly with extra cost ).

Now for Canon PowerShot S3 IS & Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd.

Apart for the same concern of Image quality. I have one more doubt in choosing b/w the two is handling and operations..

Now if, which ever is better of S6000fd and S3Is I'll go with that..

Now if Zoom is the only major difference between one of above and Cannon SD850(if it's better than F31), then I'll go with cannon SD850 Is. as just for the zoom I wont go with a bulky model.,.

So may be by this elimination method we may come up to some conclusion..

SD850 IS]__________]F31 fd] ]]___________>S3Is]__________]S6000fd] ].

I hope You'll help me pick up a camera. I'll go with your option and advice , as we like all the models and can go with any , and we hope that you'll choose best for usThanks in advanceAnkit.

Image quality in daylight won't be much different. If you get 6x4 prints you almost certainly wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The Canon has the IS though, which is good, while the Fuji has a slightly sharper lens..

Hard to tell you which is better for handling. If you can try them for yourself that would be better. One thing: the Fuji is quite a bit bigger than the Canon..

Now if Zoom is the only major difference between one of above and > Cannon SD850(if it's better than F31), then I'll go with cannon SD850IS..

You know Ankit, I can't choose for you!.

The question is this: do you want a big zoom camera that has lots of manual features like the ability to change the aperture and so on, or do you want a tiny pocket camera that's basically point and shoot? (you can of course change aperture and shutter speed on the Fuji but not as easily as on the big cameras)..

You'll have to decide that for yourself. If you can go to a store and pick them up, it will be clearer for you to make a decision. Good luck!.

Androo..
