Ready to buy, anything to look out for with an online retailer?
OK, so thanks in large part to this forum, I've got my target setup figured out. I've used nextag.com and pricegrabber.com to figure out the best prices, and I'm looking at online retailers. Anyone have any experience with enterprisephoto.com?.

Everything seems pretty fool-proof here. I've got the manufacturer part #s, they're saying it's factory new, etc. Anything to look out for before pulling the trigger?.

Thanks,.

It's probably a scam, judging from the fact that they're using 'Ratings Planet' which is either a completely fake ratings site, or one which is so unreliable that it might as well be owned by scammers..

Ex. compare.

Also...http://sheddingsomelight.com/buy-cameras/list/dealers-mraccfam.htmlNote the address.http://donwiss.com/pictures/BrooklynStores/h0178.htm.

'PriceScan' also looks unreliable, seeing ashttp://www.abesofmaine.com/...o?item=CNPSS5IS&id=CNPSS5IS&l=PRICESCAN.

Abes of Maine is a 'featured merchant'. As has been said before ain't no Abe, ain't in Maine (Brooklyn, more like).http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Abe_s_of_Maine..

Electronics merchants IMHO are as low as used car and mattress salesman, so I'm not surprised by the scam artists, but I'm disappointed nonetheless. I think I'll stick with B&H. Thanks for the heads up..

The legendary Dishonest Abe's. If they lie about their location, what else are they hiding? Stick to B&H, Adorama, or Amazon. I've used buydig.com, and it was alright...

Just a quick question re: this whole "import" version that needs the 'expensive upgrade' to be usable in the US: Don't all the cameras support a number of languages in the menus? Is it just me, or shouldn't someone be able to just go into the menu and select 'English'? Is this what all the "$500 upgrade for the US version" nonsense is?..

I'm getting close to being in the same position. Is there a benefit to buying online? My only local camera store is Ritz. Is it not good to be able to take a defective product back and hand it over for a new one? I must be missing something. I was told by an associate at Ritz that if I came in with an Ad for B&H and spoke to the manager, there was a good chance they would match the price (yet to be seen of course). Do most people buy cameras online these days? I saw somebody post that B&H, Adorama and Amazon were good for online purchases. How are they better than others. what should I (we) be looking out for?..

Some manufacturers restrict warranties ex. US market might be separate. Buy a 'grey market' camera that bypassed the authorized distributor for a given market, and you don't get a warranty that's valid in your country of residence..

Reputable vendors will clearly distinguish grey-market items where there's an issue, and provide a reasonable way for you to get service (B+H accepts the return itself, IIRC, presumably forwarding it wherever)..

If something is widely available domestically, the grey-market item is often not all that much cheaper...
