QV-2300UX Plus Comments
I bought a casio qv2300 camera 4 months ago. Though I dropped it once I had no problem with taking hundreds of photos. But now It began not to switch to record mode wit an error message like "lens cap" even there is no lens cap covering the lens. I wonder If there is a quick fix of this problem or should I argue this with the service guys...

I actually dropped mine onto a rock and bounced it into a stream where it got more then wet. I experienced the same error message. Take the batteries out and let the camera completety discharge ... to where all settings are lost. Replace the batteries. You may have to repeat several times.

Mine survived the drop, took two days to dry out and worked flawlessly since...

I'd like to use my camera as a web cam, but I am afraid that it will not allow me to take pictures with software. Is there a way around this? Also I have not been able to use my camera with serial port connection, only usb works...

Hello. I live in Norway and have just bought a Casio 2400UX (replaced the 2300UX a couple of months ago, but almost identical) from a Scandinavian webshop (www.scandinavianphoto.com) and I'm very happy with the quality of the camera. I paid around 360 US$ for it, which is a good price over here. I think the picture quality is excellent, and I like the features of the camera. However, the software supplied with the camera seems very poor! Maybe I've missed something in the instructions (which are only in digital format on the same CD...) but I can't seem to work out how to edit/print/send as e-mail attachment. Maybe I need an additional software programme? Can anyone advise? Also, I am unable to "transfer" the pictures onto my television screen (but it's possible this problem is due to the TV; I'm going to check on another TV ). The flash is also a little weak, but on the whole, these problems apart, I'm delighted with the camera!..

Hi Marc,.

Do you have any picture/image manipulation software on your PC? You may have some bundled with a scanner.I have a Mustek scanner and I got the U-lead image software which is quite sufficient for basic image manipulation. This is better than the Piccolo software that came with the Casio. Once you have loaded images to your PC check into which folder they have been filed and open them in your image manipulation software. If you are really stuck,e-mail me at mike@beatles64.freeserve.co.uk and I'll see if I can help. Mike...

I bought this camera in Japan. Only back in home country I noticed that the software DC was Japanese and does not even run in my computer (Windows 2000). I have been looking for English software in the interned, but it does not seem to be available. The camera may be good, but it is not very useful if I cannot load pictures into the C. I also bought the Casino adaptor, which enables (should enable) to use the memory card in a lap top computer. Good idea, but the computer (almost brand-new Toshiba) crashes each time I insert the card.

No help, the computer still crashes. So, I warn everybody: DO NOT BUY A CASINO CAMERA before you have tested that it works with your computer. Pukka Landsman..

You could buy a flash card adapter which mounts the flash card and can be slide in the couputer PCMCIA slot.

After that, it will appear as a separate drive on the PC operating system ( eg WIN9x). Then you can transfer.

The imager at a higer rate than with the normal serial cable...
