This is interesting, I am also looking for a camera with similiar features. It sounds kind of too good to be true but I do hope there is something out there like that for a reasonable price...
Good luck finding something that meets all your wants. I'd like one to, but all my research indicates that no such small and capable camera exists. Hopefully I'm wrong..

I'm always interested in the comments about needing a 5x zoom. 5x is the range of the zoom, so a 10-50mm zoom and a 50-250mm are both 5x. One goes from ultra wide angle to normal while the other goes from normal to telephoto. You would get two very different fields of view from these cameras. Are you I.
M guess ing you are looking for something general purpose though, that goes from say moderately wide angle to moderate telephoto?.

I was looking for something to carry with me at all times.I opted for the Fuji F45 from Ritz Camera. (F40 otherwise.).
It has 8.3 megapixes, 20.7 total zoom 3 x optical 6.9 x digital and 640x480 pixels 30 f/s with sound.I have been happy with it.Good Luck in your search..

I think you need to forget about excellent IQ with compact P&S. And tendency so far is that manufacturers are making everything to make IQ even worse..
