Nikon and Pentax use the same Sony sensors..

Oly uses Panasaonic..

A strange comment... if you are 'tired' by Nikon and Canon cameras I don't think you will find much different in a camera from a different manufacturer. pentax and Olympus cameras do the same as Nikon and Canon cameras, and in the same way - does it matter what brand a particular electronic component is?.

Is it photography that your are bored / frustrated with? It's easy to get disillusioned if your skills and technique do not live up to your expectations, and you end up with mediocre pictures. A possible remedy for this is to go on a course and really learn how to be a better photographer, which will be a much better use of your money than buying a new camera because you are bored with the old one.Mike..

The newer Olympus use Panasonic's nMOS sensorNikon and Pentax use Sony CCD sensorsCanon build their own CMOS sensors.
