I like them..

I'n not particularly keep on traditional wedding photos, or superimposed portraits in wine glasses/horse shoes/etc. The style yours are in a far better in my opinion..

You clearly know what you are doing. There are some very nicely composed and lit shots there, especially the bride looking out through the window. Keep up the good work!Mike..

I didn't realise that the word 'amateur' included the ability to charge up to $700 for yuor services..........

How did the bride like them?.

Mike.

Just starting out and having fun at it!.

She loved the pictures! There were actually about 200 pictures that I took. I made her a DVD slideshow with their favorite music and they both loved them very much. They already had a photographer, so I was just on the side taking pictures. But the bride told me, "I would have been happy with just your pictures."..

Thank you for taking the time to check out my pictures..

I'm trying to get into photography as a career, but I think I'm lacking confidence. When friends come up to me to ask me to take pictures for an event, I don't have the courage to charge them for my work...

Don't read too much into my critique. I'm not specifically a wedding photographer. The photos are fine, but there is room for improvement..

I don't care much for tilted photos, they make me feel dizzy if I see too many in a row. However, some people like it. I like the dancing photos being tilted, it implies motion. Of course, do what the couple wants, they're the clients. .

Depth of field is too high on some photos. The wedding cake would have been better if the freeway wasn't behind it, or the road was too blurry to see. Might want to clone out the flash reflection in the window of the other wedding cake shot. If you're not using a dSLR consider getting one so you can reduce DOF and a bouncable flash with flash diffuser..

With the guy walking in front of the gazebo, I would try to eliminate most of the empty lawn below him. More trees/sky would give a little more feel for the location..

If you're planning on charging, I would suggest reading through the pro forum and skimming through the wedding disaster threads. There are a lot of tips there on how to keep disasters from happening, and how to deal with them when they do..

Easy tips from the pros: Get backup equipment. Don't drink alcohol. Get a contract signed. Make a check-list of important wedding photos(cake cutting, the kiss, walk down the aisle, etc) and have the family check the ones they feel are important..

There are many, many more tips available from the wedding photographers in the Pro forum. Consider posting a request for critique there. They may have more helpful hints as well, but be prepared for large amounts of "blown highlights" comments..
