I like the Fujifilm F20 (or any of the F series) because they've got the best low-light performance compact zcameras. They work well with interior lighting..

Look at the dpreview full reviews for good tests of high ISO performance...

My concern with the f20 is durability(I have little ones that are abusive to electronics). The features and price point seem good. Lately I've been eyeing the canon sd800 IS. I know it's more than I originally wanted to spend. What do you guys think?..

Sucks in low light, and you don't need the wide angle for food... I don't see it being more resistant than a fuji either..

The only things that will take blows from kids are the waterproof/shockproof cams, but is that really necessary for you ?

My concerns about the Fuj are based on some user reviews on amazon. I know there will always be someone complaining about every product. I saw quite a few negative remarks about the durabilty of the f20. Do you have one? If yes how did it treat you? I would love to spend less on a PS( I already have a SLR and planning to buy a new lens soon), but I want to make sure I'm getting something that will last. Hence the interest in the SD800..

I have two (one at home, one I use at work). So far no problems with either.....

How is the fuji in low light without the flash? I've been playing around with a sd750 and the pics look horrible without flash...

Hands down - Either the Fuji f30 or f31fd (idential with the F30 but includes face detection). Both cameras are upgrades from the f20 and by far the most superior compact when it comes to low-light IQ. It has just been replaced, so it might hard to find one, as supplies are getting low and the camera is one of the most sought after as it seems...
