We queried Fuji on the FlashPath deal, received this back from the director of marketing: We are currently running a free floppy disk adapter promotion ($ 99.00 value) which you can receive if you purchase a DX-10, MX-500, MX-600Z, MX-700, or MX-2700. To receive the FDA, you must mail in a certificate which you can get from the dealer (or call 800-800-FUJI). The original coupon must be accompanied by the Fujifilm registration card, original UPC from the box, and a copy of the receipt. The offer runs between March 1 and August 31, 1999, and is redeemable if postmarked by September 31, 1999...

It appears the Fiji MX-600Z and Toshiba PRD-M3 are the same camera. Tobshiba makes for Fuji? Why would anyone purchase the Toshiba for $599 when you can purchase the Fuji for $489?..

I recently purchased the MX600, and took it with me to Clearwater Beach, Florida for evaluation. I was VERY impressed with this camera. The colors produced were vibrant, sharp, and enthralling. The only issue was the LCD, which is useless in sunlight. I had to wait until I got back to my hotel to evaluate my shots. Still, this is a minor issue, and I heartily recommend this camera. I am new to digital photography, and found it easy to learn and use!Roger..

I've had the MX-600Z for a couple weeks now, and am getting superb pics with it. One thing not mentioned in the reviews is that the "Cloudy" white-balance setting is actually color-neutral, and gives me the best results even in bright sunshine. The "Auto" and "Sunny" settings both seem to de-emphasize the green value before processing, leaving magenta casts that I find impossible to remove completely. In the Cloudy setting the colors are superb. For outdoor pics in the 1.3 to 1.5 megapixel class, the MX-600Z is easily one of the best...

Re: the MX-600. An excellent camera. I bought mine back in August 1999 (just in time to get the FREE flashpath adapter.) The Flashpath Adapter works awesome. Fuji was very good and quick about sending it out. In all my comparisons, Fuji had the best price/feature/performance rating (and the free adapter cinched the deal), and I researched A TON of cameras before buying. Note: Fuji has a similar deal running to 2000 on some of the other newer cameras -MX-2700,MX-1700,MX-1200, etc.

I compared it with the Olympus D-400 (now 450) and went with the Fuji. Awesome pictures (I've taken almost 1000 pix since getting the camera.) Recommend www.buy.com for 8mb Smartmedia cards ($16-17). Currently the Olympus D450 is a better buy ($387 on the web) or the MX-1700 (more compact) since Fuji omitted the MX-600 from the current "free stuff" deal, choosing to concentrate on the newest offerings.Quality of the pictures is awesome. The manual setting work great and the flash pix are never over exposed. Thanks to Imaging-Resource.com for the helping me with my decision..

I have a Fuji MX600Z and for nine months I have had a ball with this great digicam. Since last September, I have had three SmartMedia go corrupt. Simple Technology has been great about replacing them, but the "shutdown" time is aggravating. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is it possibly a problem with the camera itself? Any suggestions?..

I bought my MX600 in Germany a couple of years ago.

Everything was great, great camera, until a couple of months ago.

I started getting all kinds of error messages: no card (when card already inserted), card full (when card freshly formatted), frame error (after a shot)... badly stored images, or not stored at all. I thought it was the camera, because the cards functioned normally in my flashpath. I have a 4MB Fuji card, and a 16MB Olympus one. I took the camera in for servicing 2 days ago, they predicted some bad or dirty card connector. I haven't been contacted since.

Thanks! Ziad Ghosn..

Hello.

I have the same problem. I asked the fuji hotline and they said that I should blow into the slot of the smartcard.

But it doesnt help. Did you repair your camera ? What was defekt ( the camera or the smartmedia card ) ?
