Have a look at their websites and you'll see exactly how many there are.Androohttp://Androo.smugmug.com..
Also is one cheaper than the other? I have looked at lenses at my 2 local shops but they only have very few lenses at all and no long lenses (300mm plus).Cheers..
Really a bit of a no brainer, the answer is Canon by quite a margin.
Regards.
Steve..
Ok,.
After looking at the websites (thanks for the link) I realise that Canon has a much better range. But what about price are the canons cheaper generally or more expencive. Sorry I am down in humble little New Zealand were the market ain't that big. Also are Extentders Any good on long lenses on a digital...
I'm in Aus, I found it is much easier to see what is available here at what price rather than in the US cos it does vary ALOT, prices are more expensive down under. Check out a few bigger stores in NZ and/or online stores to check out prices. It will give you a more realistic idea of price range etc.fallingphotogirlSydney, Australia..

For pricing, checkhttp://www.bhphoto.com andhttp://www.adorama.com..
I don't like B&H's new and clumsier web site, but their line and customer service are second to none..

It's easy to be misled..
First of all, Sigma, Tamron and Tokina all make lenses to fit both Canon and Nikon cameras..
Second of all, how rich are you?.
For a lot of photographers, while it is nice to dream about $4000us lenses, they never will buy them, so any comparison of lenses from Canon to Nikon to Sigma, et al, needs to remove the ones you don't care about..
So, that brings the photographer with some cash in the pocket or credit on the card to trying to decide among affordable lenses from several manufactuerers; at least four makers for Canon and four makers for Niokon, with three of these overlapping..
For an amateur photgrapher, it is very difficult to make a reasoned argument (note "reasoned") for picking Nikon or Canon because of some lens you can buy..
BAK..
I strongly recommend that you carefully read the following web site: http://digitalphotographyclass.netIt provides info on lenses and will answer almost any question you might have..
Jerry..
Can't you just look on their respective sites and count them?Jules.

Who out of canon and nikon has the bigger range of lenses?Specifically in the 200mm plus range. From what I have read elsewereit seems to be canon. Is this true..
Also who has the larger range of long lenses with IS or VR?.
I am currently desiding whether to buy a D80, D200 or 30D so anycoments on the best choise would also be apperciated..
Cheers.
