I forgot to mention, I live in Australia, so AUS$ would be helpful, cheers..
If you start charging for your work, you are a professional, by definition. Sorry..
I recently went through the same process. There may be differences re your tax situation. I decided to make it simple. There are two components to this: labor and physical product (prints). I priced them separately. I decided that my labor would be priced at $30/hr (US...you can convert to AUS).

Hello, recently I have been getting some people asking me to takepictures for them for various situations, personal use advertisingect, they have all offered to pay me for my time however I have noidea how much to charge as this is the first time it has happened..
The most recent Job I did I spent about 3 hours total over two tripstaking pictures and then around 3 hours editing time, and ended uphanding over 33 pictures, 14 of which are HDR and very worked in PSect..
I am not a professional by any means, but feel that I handed over areasonable standard of pictures, they will be used for advertising inmagazines..
Any suggestions as to what I should charge?.
