Golden Gate Bridge Photos. Requesting C&C
Hi,.

I took some pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge and view of San Francisco from the Marin Headlands. C&C is appreciated. I used a Canon Powershot A640 either in Av mode or Manual..

Nice pictures! 277 and 285 are my favouirites (the silhouette against the evening sky, and the night shot)..

A small point: the camera seems to be at a slight angle in some of them - I think they would look better if the main bridge supports were vertical - easily fixed in PS. It's surprisingly difficult (for me, anyway) to hand-hold a camera dead straight.Mike..

Thanks Mike! Yeah I don't think I set up my tripod correctly. With the uneven surface over there and not having a leveler. I will need to fix it in photoshop...

I might humbly suggest you work on your exposure & metering. Shot 251 & 260 seem maybe 1 1/3 stops overexposed. While I agree 277 may be one of your better images here, it would b e much more compelling if it were an HDR..

Many of your shots would suit my eye more if they had white balance adjusted. You may find a custom WB setting to work best. I know my Canon S3 IS can do very well when I set it manually. And for cityscapes, consider stopping your aperture down well past f/4.1 or f/5.6.

I've got a few shots of SF bridges in my Bridge & Tunnel set on flickr. Obviously, I'd invite you to visit and see if some of these shots can be of interest to you.http://www.flickr.com/photos/prodesma/sets/72157594542020634/.

Really nice pictures of the golden gate bridge. Did you shoot with a 20D?.

Also the night shot of the golden gate bridge which looks lilke it's been shot from an elevation above the bridge, where exactly did you shoot that from...

Thanks for your kind words..

Some are from my Canon S3 IS, some my Nikon D80, a couple are film- either Nikon N80/F80 or Mamiya medium format 645 AF Pro... See 'more properties' on my flickr to view info & deets..

I'm not sure which you're referring to. I don't have any 'elevated' shots of the GGB. One from Fort Point. One from a roadside vista in the Presidio (off Lincoln?). The fog shot was at sunrise from the Vista Point just across the bridge. I dunno...
