My first Panasonic FZ1 was silver, but in places were the rather soft (well, at least not what I would call abrasive) nylon neck strap started rubbing the silver finish off in places, especially on the side "corners". It eventually started bothering me enough that I sold the silver FZ1 on eBay and bought a new black FZ1 (actually made money on the deal). The black ones are not going to show scuff marks and other wear near as much as the silver..
EBay is probably the best place to sell your old camera, but depending on what it is you may need to do something to make your auction stand out from the crowd. There are a ton of digicams for sale on eBay any given day, so offering (and advertising in the title) free shipping or even some cheapie extras thrown in will help to sell it for the higher price that you'll want..

I try to shoot wildlife too along with many family gatherings with the camera I have. I ordered the silver because my best avenue to get the FZ50 was out of the black. Impatient am I.....

I appreciate the advice on the camera strap rubbing, maybe there is a way to guard the finish without detracting from the strap movement. I will look into the E-Bay avenue, maybe things will be good, kinda commited myself by ordering the camera already. It will coerce me into taking action to sell and not wait..

No problem I just read through my original message, and there were a lot of typos and errors. Sorry about that. Apparently you were able to make some sense out of it..
I _always_ wait to receive the new before selling the old. I learned to do that the hard way when I sold my beloved Palm Tungsten~C PDA (that runs my entire life in just about every way) to upgrade to then very new Palm T~X PDA. HUGE mistake. The Palm T~X turned out to be a horrible PDA for me, and I immediately missed the Tungsten~C. It was a happy ending though, as I ended up selling the T~X for more than I paid for it new (by throwing in some extra accessories that I had not used for two years), and bought a newer Tungsten~C that was in better condition than my previous one for $50 less than I sold the original Tungsten~C. I ended up making like $125 on the trial and resale of a Palm T~X, but I still was mad at myself for letting the known go before the unknown proves it deserves to stay!.
I think you'll be very happy with your FZ50. I have my eye on a black one myself as a p&s backup for my Olympus E500 DSLR system. Plus, I really like the high end video mode of the FZ50, and would love having nice video ability right in my camera bag..

As I mentioned in my other post, I'm also interested in the FZ50, but I want a black one. I'm a bit annoyed that black is typically so much more expensive than silver! It's just a color it's not like there are better features or something that come with the black one!.
