FZ50 Accessory kit
Hello.

I just got a panasonic FZ50 one week ago, and I've been playing with it and reading as much as I can about how to use it, since I'm as green as I could be..

I used the forum's search function but I couldn't find any info about this FZ50 accessory kit from Amazon, I would like to know if anybody have any comments about it.I found it while searching for a bag for my camera..

Thank you in advance..

Incase you plan to buy accessories form amazon or ebay please note the cons:.

(1) tunnelling/vignette effect while using wide angle or fisheye lens(2) chromatic aberration while using telephoto lens.

You may go to Learn/Glossary in this forum to know what I mean..

I purchased non-panasonic and experienced above..

Not sure what is the case on Panasonic wide angle/telephot lens..

Good luck..

You'll notice the posters in the Panasonic forum here tend to buy the Olympus TCON-17, Raynox DCR150 and DCR250 if they want to get fancy..

There's a lot of stuff in that amazon kit you may never use. It might not be a bad idea to get to know your FZ a little better and then purchase things on an individual basis as you need 'em..

All I bought was an extra battery, an inexpensive Lowepro bag and a decent Sigma multi-coated 55mm filter to protect the lens. If you manage to scratch the surface, a few backs gets you a new one; scratch the lens and you replace the camera. Evidently, too, there are third-party batteries that are cheaper.Enjoy your camera and welcome to the club!mike marshallFZ50 in Oakville, ON..

Thank you guys for the advice..

The first thing I need to buy is the filter to protect the lens, a bag and an extra battery. But definitely the filter..

Mike: Do you have the model number for the Sigma Filter?.

Thanks..

Ony the wide angle conversion lens would cost much more than the whole kit so for that price you'll get something unusable. You cannot get a $250 lens and a $150 lens at $80 and expect something good.Did you bought you FZ50 for $50?VictorBucuresti, Romaniahttp://s106.photobucket.com/albums/m268/victor_petcu/..

I don't and I checked the Sigma site for one, too. The plastic container says, "DG Filter - Ultra-low Reflection Multi-Coating" and "Sigma UV 55mm" on the spine. They probably only sell one in various sizes. If you get another brand, make sure it's multi-coated...

I bought all my accessories for the FZ30 one by one, on ebay. The cheap telephoto and wide angle lenses are worthless, and BatteryBarn.com has cheaper spare batteries than Panasonic's branded ones. See the Panasonic Talk forum for more advice. I would recommend a LensPen for cleaning your lens and filters. As for a tripod and bag, it is better to buy them where you can get specifications and not just a tiny picture and some optimistic words..

I agree with Amanita..

I bought (on eBay) the following lens(1) 0.45x wide angle(2) 0.42x fish eye(3) 2x telephoto(4) 3x telephoto.

Picure quality with wide angle picture is not perfect but not bad either. But I had to chose aspect ratio 16:9 to avoid vignetting..

Result from fish eye is not worh the price. The picutre looks dramatic, though not sharp..

I hate the pictures with the telephoto lens. The pictures are not sharp. I rather prefer panaonic EZ - extended zoom upto 21X - available at low mega pixle pictures..

I bough PL/FL/UV filters. I find them worthy..

Don't waste your time and money on anything but the best. You'll regret buying these when you start looking at your pictures more critically in the long run..

Buy the Panasonic wide and tele conversions, if you can afford them, or go for the Olympus lenses and be very happy. Kodak also has a wide angle adaptor and the quality seems to be excellent..

The Raynox 150 and 250 close up lens give you the ability to take high quality near-microscopic images, when you get the hang of trying to focus with such limited depths of field. Well worth the effort of persevering though..

Visit the Pana forum and pick up some tips. I find the people very helpful and friendly.JohanCape TownSouth Africa.
