I have the exact same problem with my Fuji 2600. I'm sending it off today to Fuji...
Yeah I'm having the same problem with my 3800 just started today I'm just glad I have the benefit of just opening a new box and puting a new one on display. so I'm guessing it is a common problem..
The reason I started this thread is: I am wondering if enough people will respond so that legal action can me taken against Fuji for selling a defective product. I have seen numerous examples on Ebay where the owner is selling a fuji 2600 because of this problem. So, if you're interested, please post to this site or email me atThanks, Lee..
Yep, I have the same problem with my 2600, I did not drop the camera, but the lens locked in the out position and will not retract at all.
I see from web searchs this is more the norm, then just a isolated incident. After looking up the paper work - YEP out of warrenty.
Has Anyone found a exploded view of the workings of the lens/foom/focus? It has to be something kinda simple to fix I bet - maybe just hard to get to.
Anyone know a Fuji tech guy, who can ask for tech help on a fix for this or a tech document on repairing it? I know I'm dreaming...
I just hate having a Fuji 2600 paper weight, with out trying to fix it...
I have the same problem on my two Fujifilm camera.
My old Fujifilm 4700, which I brought in 2000, had the same problem after 4 months of use and taking about 1,500 pictures. I fixed it within the warranty period and the lens stuck again in 6 months time. My new Finepix 401 also had the same problem again, after 6 months of use. I am still waiting for the return from the repair centre...
Hi Chuck, Please let us know about what happens with Fuji. I am especially wondering how much they charge for fixing this problem. Thanks, Harry Million ()..
