I've got the S7000 and I'm very comfortable with it. You can see some photos that I took with this camera on my web site http://www.digitalvisionen.de Best wishes from Germany,.
Dirk..
This is Dirk again. In my opinion it would be very interesting to see the image quality of the S7000 if Fuji would offer a firmware update with options for ISO 100 and ISO 50. Best wishes from Germany,.

Is this update of ISO 100 (and ISO 50) a possible and probable feature or just an 'enthusiast' dream ? Bye from Italy!..
I really thlink is just a dream, it'not only a probem of fimware the addiction of Iso values... And if Fuji don't use 50 or/and 100 there must be a reason, it's not that they forgot it!.
This is why I buyed a Canon G5, and I'm more than happy of it.
5 real Mp with great quality and outstanding performances are better than 12 with interpolations, noise and low quality.

Fuji s7000 Compact Flash Memory Battery Drain Problem Fuji states on their website FAQ that some brand Compact Flash memory cards used in the s7000 consume power and drain the batteries with the camera OFF, and therefore advises removal of the card when the camera is OFF. Does anyone know which brands DO NOT drain the batteries with the camera OFF? Can anyone confirm that Fuji brand CF cards DO NOT drain the batteries? I asked Fuji this question several days ago and have not yet received an answer...
Hi. I read the same about the battery drain. contacted Fuji and was told that s7000 bought before 15th of December , with certain serial numbers would need to be repaired, they sent me a bag, arranged to have it pick up & delivered me a new s7000 within 7 days. no problem. no cost..
I contacted Fuji U.S. tech support twice now regarding the s7000 recall/fix for the battery drain problem and the tech said there is no recall and was not aware of any fix. Also, tech support would not tell me if my S/N unit was an affected unit and could not say if FUJI brand CF cards would drain the batteries with the camera off. They just repeated that some CF cards drain the batteries and either take the cards out when the camera is in use or use microdrives. I'm a little frustrated with Fuji tech support... maybe I should have bought a Dimage A1!..
Found this on dpreview.com forum HP Photosmart 850.
Cameras with serial numbers above 34L60001 (inclusive) were produced after 15.
December 2003 and therefore will definitely not experience this battery drain problem. for more check out.

Magicstor 2.2 GB.bmp..
I read a number of reviews( I can't remember which site I was on ) of people using the Microdrives on there Fuji S7000 and the majority said to stay away from them. I was so convinced by these comments I was ready to send my magicstor 2.2 back when it arived. I even went as far as getting a rma number. But when it arrived I decided to give it a try figuring the shipping to and from plus the restocking fee was going to cost me about $60 American. Well I've had no problems with it as of yet. I will say that I am taking the advice I read about these microdrives being very sensitive to movement and temperature so I handle it with kid gloves.
I'm not saying it will not work in temperatures below that range but I see no reason to push my luck. I've only taken a few dozen shots with it but after every set I've directly downloaded them to my computer from the camera with no problems. The other thing that I got from reviews on microdrives was if it crashes after you have done a lot of shots without transfering your shots yet you lose lots of pictures so you can not duplicate. Good point taken. So that may be even more reason to either use memory cards size 256 or 512 mb.
Hope this has been a help. Patrick Healy..
Sorry, how could someone be happy with buying this camera. A look to dpreview shows photographic tests which are telling something about the terrible Quality in sharpness and resolution compared with other cameras. The manufacterer is telling something about pixels which is not true. Poor owners ! Robert Koch..
What noise are you talking about? I've had this camera for two months now and the noise is NOT any issue. You simply have to shoot at soft! sharpening and 12MP fine. That's the same as with my now gone S602: soft sharpening and 6MP fine. Today's computers sharpen then, if you want to, much more friendly than the Fuji computer and software. BTW this was shot at ISO800, how about your G5?? Attachments:.

Like so many others, I have been looking at ALL the many reviews of the Fuji 7000 and have also examined many sample images. I do not understand the "NOISE" issue. Some say it's bad, others say,no problem. The images I examined looked very good, although I may not have a trained eye for seeing all the so called flaws. I am looking for my 1st Digital camera, and want the best value for my money, so far in my opinion, the 7000 is looking rather good. I am an experienced 35mm film Nikon user who wants to expand to the "Digital" format in Photography. Any helpful feedback will be appreciated...
