What has been your experience if any with macro photography with the s7000? Kathryn..
Hi Kathryn, The macro capability of s7000 is the same as s602z.
S7000 has improved AF in low light, and the details are amazing.
After almost a month with s7000, as long as we keep the sharpening in Soft, instead of "Normal" or "Hard", the over-sharpening will be gone.
And we can get very sharp pictures. This link can get you started with Macro Photography, very detail.
It was written for s602z, but it also apply for s7000, http://azone.clubsnap.org/insectguide/page01.html Hope all helps, alien..
I have one s602z and this is my problem: Minimal ISO is only 160.
This camera lacks ISO 50 and ISO 100.
Why Fujifilm make changes to f7000 and now ISO is only 200??? (for non auto ISO).
I have a powerfull flash head on studio and iso 200 at f8.0 (i don't know if this camera have f11.0 like s602).... PLEASE FUJIFILM: WE NEED ISO 50!!! (LIKE YOURS VELVIA CHROME!!!).
Thank you! p.s. Good Improviment: The exposure compensation range is the usual -2EV to +2EV, in 1/3EV increments. Better than s602z for "fill flash"...
How do people feel about the S7000 in comparison to the S5000? Is it worth the $400 upgrade? Also, what do you guys think of it compared to the Minolta Dimage A1 for being $200 cheaper? I'm looking at getting a camera very very soon and am trying to get a feel for "is it worth the extra $400, or the other side, is it good enough to save the $200 from the A1" Thanks,.
Dave..

Re. White Balance....Taking family portrait pics in kitchen (best even lighting). Light is all overhead, 8 fluorescent tubes with soft white "pillow" or "cloud" lenses. Auto white balance is VERY good (accurate). Tried manual setting and pics are much more yellow cast. Used warm fluorescent setting on S7000. Any suggestions?? (other than stay with Auto WB)?..
Re: Fuji telephoto and wide-angle converter lenses. I want to add these to my S7000 but am concerned about protecting them with uV filters. I understand that these converters do NOT have threaded area in front of lens to allow screw-on filters. There surely must be some filters which would not degrade the image coming to Fuji's converter lenses. Why is this discouraged by no providing threaded mounting for filters?..
The S7000 picture quality isn't better than the one of the S602z and not even equal, in fact it's full of noise because of the over compression applied to it's pictures. I have both the S602z and the S7000 and I'm really disappointed for buying the S7000, all I can say is don't ever think about upgrading, it's a free advise.
Shame on Fuji upgrading the S602z with such a camera, it really doesn't deserve to be evaluated. My friend has a 200$ fuji finepix A201 digital camera which delivers same quality as the S7000...
