My Fuji 3800 seems to have a power problem. When I turn the power on I get no picture at all unless I turn it on in the playback mode. There has been no low battery indication at all and when I tested the batteries with a battery tester they were still good. The only way I could fix this problem was to put brand new batteries in. Just woundering what what the problem is...
I have a new 3800. I like it. However I have a Epson scanner and it comes with PhotoImpression software and I like it OK. I would like to get pictures from the 3800 into PhotoImpression. How do I do it?.
I like the zoom real well. Thanks the main reason I bought it. Thanks, O.Anderson...
John:.
Sounds like you are using alkaline batteries. If your camera is new, you will tend to have it powered on much more than when you have had it for a while. This means you will be using the LCD too much, have it on too long while connected to the PC for downloading images, etc. This burns alkaline batteries too fast (they'll only last about an hour or so). You need rechargeables (NiMH) of at least 1650mah and preferably 1800mah. You need to stop using the LCD except to check the occasional image for a sec or two, but you can do this in the EVF which saves power too.
You need to set the camera to power off automatically. You need to invest in a Fuji AC adapter if you are using it as a Webcam...
Olen: If the camera connection does not show in PhotoImpression's "Get Photo" "Camera/Scanner" window menu, then you will have to download using FinePix Viewer and then find them on the hard drive and use Photoimpression to manipulate them. It may not show in the menu when the camera is NOT connected to the USB and powered on, as the USB is considered a removable device...
Think I have a problem with the autofocus, In ambiant light it will not focus at all and just shows the " !AF " sign, Even if the room has the corner lamp on (3x 40 watt bulbs)it won't focus. Is this a standard problem with digital cameras or is it just the fuji S304 (3800)...
My FinePix S304 (3800) is bought in Japan by one of friends. No surprice that it is a pure japanese version which does not offer the language settings. Thanks to the internet (i could get the english manual down) and the set of user friendly icons, I can manage with this unfamilier language. However, I got a problem recently when I tried to get photoes in burst mode. It capture only one photo and displayed a massage, of course, in Japanese. It continues with this and now I cannot use this feature. Could anybody help to locate what the problem is? Hemantha..
I also have this problem. I assumed that this is due to law sensitive (ISO 100) CCD. I compared this feature with some other digital cameras and found that s304 is inferior. My usual solution is to use a laser pointer (more effective if you can use a pointer with an 'iconic pointer' like face or an arrow, not the usual 'dot pointer') to focus to the target. This is very effective that even without assistant light source, we can focus effectively...
I have an s304 and I understand they are the same as a 3800. my problem/query is when I take a picture what I see briefly after taking the shot is not what is recorded. 1, focus camera - LCD freezes briefly then continues to show 'live view' - the camera is now focused at correct range.
2, press the button to take the picture and the LCD briefly freezes with what I would expect to be actual shot. when the picture is then subsequently displayed in the LCD ( q few secs after the shot) it is no the same image. the problem is I was taking a picture of a flag and as the wind blew the flay unfurled and could be see, I waited for this to happen (with the camera focused) the pressed the button a picture of the flag is briefly seen then the actual picture is displayed where the flag has dropped back down? is this normal or am I doing something wrong?..
Hi, I am going to purchase my first digital camera. I am interested in the Fuji 3800 finepix, but am concerned about the reviews which I have been reading about low light situations. Is there any solution(s) you have discovered to remedy this problem. Do you think this is a good entry level Digital for me? I also have heard that the body is not only light, but not real sturdy. Have you had any feedback as to how the camera stands up to regular use? Has the issue of the lens cap being loose and falling off been addressed by fuji? Finally, I am looking at an increased XD memory card and don't know whether to go with 2 - 128 MB cards, or one 256. Any thoughts on this? Thank you for your help.

In mauel settings on my Fuji 3800 Digital camera, how do I set the ev. for sunny weather, cloudy days and snowy days?..
Hi,.
I am thinking of adding a polarizer to my s304 camera. Could anybody help me to decide whether I should go for more expendive circular polarizer instead of cheap liner one?.
Hemantha..
Hi Bob, my s304 manual sais that it will take up to 128 MB cards so get those. The camera body is a little delicate and I would reccomend getting a case when you buy it.This is the second Digital camera I have owned and the photos it produces are impressive, much better than anticipated, even at 0.3 megapixel the results are good + the battery life is excellent...
Hi,.
As with Peter Wood, I also suffer with the to low light auto focus problem. I also found quite a few reviews on the web with the same complaint. Therefore I would very much appreciate it if the author of the S304/3800 Fuji coupon could assist us with this problem. Does this mean that there is a major manufacturing problem with these cameras when it comes to auto focus in low light conditions? How does one focus if the !AF comes up? (with and without the flash). The situation is very frustrating. The S304 very definitely does get enough light on the CCD to produce a picture if only one can focus it properly.

I've taken a few test shots of scenary with the landscape mode and regular "auto" mode, in every case the auto looks better then landscape. The main difference is the landscape looks over exposed. Anybody else found this? Are there any conditions where landscape looks better?..
Have the same problem as john s, regarding the power supply. now, when I try to press the button to take a picture, the whole camera shuts off, and I have to turn it off and on again. why is this?..
