Hi I also was looking for any reviews on the 2800 and couldn't find any anywhere. Did you purchase it yet? If so, how is it?..
I just purchased the camera last night. Friday the 16th. Purchase was at Micro Center in Santa Clars, Calif. They are having a 22 yr anniver. Sale. All cameras 22% off till Sunday.
I paid $311.00 reg 399.00. Try Micor Center web page. Santa Clara phone is 408-919-5400. I will follow up with report later. I like the size and shape.
Camera is without battery charger...
How big is the camera? Is it something like a cigarette box?..
I saw some sample pics at: http://www.finepix.com/2800z.html.
Are those pics true? or it's modified. am really interested on the 2800 but my concert is the size. how do you like the sizE? is it difficult to store when youre travelling?..
How do you protect the lens on the finepix 2800? does it come with lense cap? is it tight and reliable that it wont get removed when inside a bag? am open for personal reviews or suggestions.
There is a coupon here for this camera. Hope this helps. Looks like a great little camera for the price.

It is bigger than a ciggy box. It is hard to think of something the right dimensions but I have a box on my desk holding 12 MiniDiscs and it would probably just about fit inside that if there were not dividers in the box...
The lens cap has quite tight springs loaded tabs holding it on plus it also has a retaining cord plus a clip to attach it to the strap while not in use...
Does this camera has date/time stamp ?
THanks...
THIS THE CAMERA I have checked 15 of the TOP from all makers. This is like the OLD KOdak BROWNIE point and shoot and receive GREEEEAAAAT pictures. YES you can print 8x10 pics VERRRY nice!!!NO bells and whistles just a swnsational camera..Jim.
I bought this camera just before Thanksgiving and am quite pleased with it. With the 6:1 lens it's a great value. I also like the 'grip' which mimicks the motor drive on my SLR. It's an easy camera to get used to with very intuitive controls. There are a few drawbacks:.
1.) Lack of meaningful manual override. I cannot control depth of field through shutter speed/aperature. There is no indicator. 2.) In less than bright indoor conditions, the viewfinder is very dark. I think an optical viewfinder with superimposed indicators would be better (more expensive?).
I have printed modestly cropped 8X10 images with great results on my Epson 880. All in all you'll be hard pressed to find a better camera under $400...
Just ordered it for $299 from Gateway Accessories Store. It is $329 - $30 coupon (coupon code: RX914, expires: 12-16-01). Can't wait to get a hand on this one!..
I just bought the 2800z for a xmas gift, and was wondering how you like it? I took some pictures and compared to my Oly C2100, and don't really like the 2800z results. I am not real familiar with it and spent very little time playing. Just took a few shots with it and the same shots with my C2100, and here's the resultes: http://www.pbase.com/photoman/uzi_vs_fuji_2800z Does the 2800z get better with "experience"?..
Does the fuji 2800 have any way to produce black and white or sepia photos?..
I'm very happy with the finepix 2800Z.
Here you can see some of my pics : http://www.pbase.com/dvd..
Of course...but not build in the camera itself.
You will have to do it with a photo edition software on the PC.
In fact, it's easy to get almost any effect you may want.
I prefer to have a color original and convert it to B&W than a B&W original that is difficult, for not to say impossible, to colorice as the original scene was...
Any suggestions on why my GI. Photo Suite 111 is now printing undersize prints of two-up onto A5 paper. Suddenly I now have wide margins around the pics. Thanks..
