Fuji FinePix 2800 or FinePix 4800??
Having trouble deciding which model is best for me. I'm leaning toward the 2800 - with the 6X optical zoom. I've read a couple of reviews and they state that the 4800 uses interpolation for resolutions beyond 1600 x 1200. There's also pros & cons to the optical viewfinder on the 4800 vs the electronic viewfinder on the 2800. My understanding is that the image quality on both models is excellent. The price difference between the two cameras isn't really that much.

I typically use a 35 mm SLR, and select the lens(es) that are appropriate for the subject and shooting conditions I'm likely to encounter. Sometimes that means a lens in the 80-120 mm (aprox 3x) range, sometimes it means a 200 mm + lens (aprox. 6x range). Any thoughts/comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,..

Im also deciding for my 2nd digital camera.. I havent checked the other model you mentioned. I'm actually choosing between Canon S110 and Fuji 2800. both with the same price but Canon is slimmer but 2x. so it's SIZE or ZOOM. I'm leaning for the Zoom but size factor is still holding me back. when you reach your decision, can you give me personal reviews for the 2800 or what ever camera you will be picking (since we're on the same price level) my add is.

How do you protect the lens on the finepix 2800? does it come with lense cap? is it tight and reliable that it wont get removed when inside a bag? am open for personal reviews or suggestions.

The 2800 zoom carries an SO 100 rating. From my SIR days, that sounds like a very slow film speed... Great for crystal clear, still images. Not so great for anything moving. Am I missing something here... Who would design a camera that would produce lousy images if anything moved?..

Hi, I also am interested in the Fuji Fine Pix 2800....but am concerned of ISO 100 only? My old.

Konica 35 SLR is great, but want to move into the digital camera....computers and all..

Am thinking the ISO of 100 is too slow, even though I think this camera will push it to 150 automatically?,.

For my nightclub(low light) and little action (BMX races) shots? some pic.s I would like to blow up to 8x10...

Would like to hear of any experiences/results of your uses.

Also, this camera has the movie w/audio feature is great, while at an affortable price of ~$350.

The other camera am thinking of is the Toshiba pdr-m25...is $100 cheaper, ISO=100/200/400, but 1/500sec,.

No movie, 3x/2x.....

What do you think?.

Thanks,.

Dan..

I have a 2800Z and as a medium cost digital camera, I'm quite happy with it. The only problem I have with the camera at the moment is in low light conditions, it's a little difficult to see the shot through the viewfinder.

Otherwise it's a great camera. Also to answer another question, the Lens retracts when not in use and the camera comes with a lense cap which clips over the lense. I keep my camera in a bag and the lense cap hasn't come off yet. Night pics do come out quite well!..
