First Time Digital Buyer
Hi, I'm a senior citizen and need help in choosing a digital camera.(my first) I don't mind telling you it's a little scary going from a 35mm camera to a digital. I am looking for one in the price range of $150. to $250. I would like one that has the stabalizing feature. Also I take a lot of pictures from our moving vechicle when we travel. I also am looking for something more than a higher zoom than a 3x. Any help is greatly appreciated...

My parents are in their upper 70's and are not technical or electronic at all. They have been using my older LZ2 which is not that old really, and love it..

6x zoom, plenty of detail, stabilization, great lens and image quality and easy to use. Runs on AA's too..

They are amazed and really have been the best images they have seen from a camera in their hands ever..

Even my 4yr old is using a low end Panny, LS70 and getting great results. He's not too steady with his hands either  .

I don't use mine too, too often, but again, I can post links to my folks once I upload a few if you'd like. They area about as "real world" as one can be..

Some samples from my Panny's:.

The Panasonic LZ-7 sounds great. I also saw a LZ-6 and am wondering what the difference is. I also take a lot of inside pics at our church and the grandkids. Would this camera work for these kind of shots? Thanks...

I think you'll be fine. More so if you choose to Post Process the images. Here are three images from my parents. Again, nothing fancy, just real world images from my folks..

Good morning Tim, Thank you ever so much for the great advice and the pics to help me decide. Now I'm going to start the task of finding a LZ-7. I live in a rather small town but I'm sure I can find something close that has what I'm looking for. Once again thanks for helping this granny out...

Tim, I just went through your photo gallery and the pics are great. I, too, would like to take close ups of flowers and nature and I trust the LZ-7 will do the trick for me. I also was very interested in the Crater Lake pics and the Cal. Redwood one. We moved here from Wa. state in '04.

These are just a few of the awesome places in our great country. Thanks for sharing them. Eva..
