EX-Z1000
I'm trying to decide between the EX-Z1000 and Canon's SD630. I like both based on size, LCD screen, and overall feel. The main reason I like the Casio is for the overall package, and not the 10MP resolution. However, I'm trying to decide if that feature is actually a hindrance I've read a lot of articles talking about sensor size and how image quality can suffer, however, the one or two actual reviews I've read speak well of the images it produces. Other people say to pick the Canon because it is a Canon. Can anyone sway me in one direction over the other? If I really like the Casio better, would it be smart to simply use it at a lower resolution?..

Hi,.

Having bought the z1000 casio I have been thrilled at ny first picture of a flower , never had to use photoshop , to make it better ,.

Am actually going to frame it, & this after many years of photography, as an amateur of course, looking forward to many more, john..

I agree, John. I have had my Z1000 for almost a week and I haven't taken a bad picture yet. The camera is solidly built and has more than enough features. It doesn't have an optical viewfinder, but I don't need it. It doesn't have many manual controls, but I don't want them. In my opinion this point and shoot camera is the best one I have ever owned...

I am alos interested in this camera. I realized it does not have a view finder. FOr those who own this camera how is the LCD outside when the sun is bright, can you still see the object in the LCD? Also, can the unit be charged outside of the cradle. If I go on vacation I don't want to have to take a cradle with me to charge it up. Thanks..

Never mind the view finder, the LCD works fine in sunlight. However in sunny backlight situation a purple line appears in the view finder but the picture itself is fine. I moved to this camera from a Sony and find it fantastic...

A question about the charging was asked but in the reply it was not answered. I would like to know also, can the camera be charged any other way except on the cradle, especially when travelling. Thanks.
