Only meant to hit preview not post!.

That image is straight out of the camera... it was kinda windy so sped up shutter speed and decreased apperture... they are manual tubes so sorry the EXIF does not tell me apperture... I have already got lazy with digital and did not take my notebook..

ISO 1000 1/6 f3.5? (guessing) no flash. on tripod with remote..

Should I increase the apperture? it just looks all wrong..

Help please!.

Use f 8 or f 11 for better dof and sharpness....generally f 8 to f 11 is the sharpest part of the lens for any use....Bill,Jr'I kind of like the Earth, it's where I keep all my Stuff.'Website; http://www.pbase.com/wboth125 Lake Wylie, SC..

The whole thing is out of focus. If it was just too wide an aperture you'd at least have some of the picture sharp..

Was the flower moving in the wind perhaps?.

Were you within the focus range? With extension tubes you have a very limited focus range. Move the camera an inch too far and you just can't focus on your subject..

Keep trying though. You should get a sharp image eventually..

Two things:.

1. Macro work is best done on calm days. While it could just be unfocused I believe it's probably motion blur. You're trying to force the work. Wait for good days and in the mean time work indoors. A lot of flowers could be brought indoors to shoot..

2. It's underexposed. You let the mostly white flower dominate the meter. It needs about +1/2 to +1 on the EV meter.A member of the rabble in good standing...

Yeah it was a little windy today and I was dumb and thought I would counter by increasing aperture to increase shutter speed to minimise motion... trying to apply rules that don't work in this situation!.

But thanks for all the tips, I will wait patiently for a calmer day and try again!fallingphotogirlSydney, Australia.
