Can someone advise what I am doing wrong please?.

Where do I access the Rules/Help link from? I cannot seem to find it anywhere I look..

Okay. I found the Rules/Help link. But it does not contain the info I seek. :^C.

Embedding links - To embed a link to a website or other type of URL simply paste (or type) the URL of the site into your message (eg. http://yoursite.com/home.htm)...
I don't want the URL to be visible. I want it to be hidden under a ordinary phrase..
Let me try again..

To my knowledge, the DPReview forums do not providea way to specify any embedded coding in your posts,e.g. HTML code or BB-code..
If you want to post a link, just paste the URL into your post.http://www.flickr.com/photos/clicky/sets/72157600365816494/Don't worry about the fact that you can't "hide"that link behind some highlighted text(as you were attempting to do)..
Be sure to use the "Preview" button before you post. The Preview will show your message exactly as it willappear, including your links, so you can test them..
After Previewing, press the "Edit" button if youwant to make changes or corrections, and then"Preview" again. A final "Preview", with no errors found, should be the last thing done before posting.(At this time, DPReview does not provide an abilityto edit your message after posting.).
Some notes about posting images and image-links:.
If you post the web address of one of the imagesin your Flickr albums, and if the URL ends with,e.g., .jpg (and nothing more after that) then, given the fact that Flickr allows direct-linking,the image itself should be displayed in your message.(The image should appear when you "Preview"and post your message.).
If you just want to show a LINK TO the image, add a semicolon ';' (so that the link ends with,e.g., ".jpg;") and then use "Preview", andyou'll see the clickable blue link to the image.(The semicolon will be 'hidden' automaticallyin the Preview and in the final posted message.).
If you ever see this message when you Preview your post:.
[URL is in our block list, either at therequest of the site or due to spam].
... that message (which would be shown in red letters)means one of two things: Either you did try to link toa site that DPReview currently blocks (in which case you'reprobably out of luck; linking to that site is not allowed) ... OR,possibly, there may just be a simple syntax-error in your link(check the link carefully and make sure it's correctly formed)..
Note:My comments above may be incomplete or maycontain errors. I'm not affiliated with DPReview, and I have no 'inside knowledge' about how theforums work. Please refer to DPReview's availableHelp information for the official instructions..
Omr..
Thank you so much omr for taking your valuable time out to explain the reasons on this issue like you did. I now understand the reason clearly! Thanks once again..

Yes I can tell you what you are doing wrong - you are trying something that doesn't work, and posting it every time . Use the PREVIEW BUTTON to see if what you are trying to accomplish is actually working..
