Never heard of a 200D..
The moisture resistance of the Olympus is designed for fog, higher humidity and very light rain. It is not an SLR..
Don't get the D40 wet. If you happen to be shooting in light rain, be sure you cover or otherwise protect it. Keep it dry..

I am considering buying a digital SLR (Nikon d40/ Canon 200d /Olympus 410) is there any difference in the ability to resistmoisture/water during e.g. trekking. Or is it necessary to buy evenmore expensive SLRs for good moisture/water resistance ?
Sorry it is the canon 400d and the Olympus E-410 I consider..
Are weather proof or splash proof..
You can probably get a good deal on an Oly E-1 (the replacement for it is due out in October) with the 14-54 zoom. Both the camera and the lens are splash proof and the camera is built like a tank to take the abuse. A good camera for inclement weather but not particularly light to carry..
After a day at the beach, mine was covered with salt spray and I just rinsed it under the tap and dried with a towel, good as new.A member of the rabble in good standing...
The Pentax K10D is an obvious suggestion. I've not used this myself, but it is supposed to have dust and weather proof seals. The only doubt might be about lenses to match, which may not meet the same standards perhaps? It would be worth asking for opinions on the Pentax SLR forum...

No sealed lenses......yet. They're supposedly coming soon..
So if you don't mind waiting a while you may indeed have pretty much what you want. The K10d is a nice camera.A member of the rabble in good standing...
