I got my 2900 last week from Computers4sure ($372) and it does a great job, especially considering the price! It probably doesn't have the overall picture quality of some more expensive models, but the 8x zoom and killer macro mode are what I was after. And of course the price is right. It's not the best camera around for taking low-light flash shots (no focus assist light), but it does a pretty good job when the light is good. I have some 2900 samples on Photopoint if you want to check it out. Here is the Link.. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=49802&a=13661810&f=0 Bob the Printer..
Thank you guys for this topic! This was JUST what I wanted to know. I have also thought about buying 2900 and Bob, your pictures really made me think "Casio is not only the best, it is even better" =) For this price it is very fantastic camera.. I think I am going to order it next week. You got your camera quite cheap... It's boring we here in Scandinavia have to pay a bit higher prices... Importer's standard price is almost 700$....
I think it's quite right price. THANK YOU BOB for wonderful pictures!..
Hello my name is Dane Beagle and I purchased a qv-2900 from Walmart for a very inexpensive price of $199.00 I love it. It works great and takes very clear pics...
I am having probs with clarity of my 2900 photos, although yours look fine. Here is a sample photo. Note the jagged edges where the blue sleeve meets the water. I have also attached a photo taken with my Kodak 3400 (at half the resolution from a boat moving about in the water) that is much *much* clearer. Maybe I need to adjust the sharpness on the Casio? Thanks if you can help me. I found that when I did a soften then unsharp mask on the Casio picture, the edges referenced above seemed to look much better.

Well, it only let me attach one photo. The fish is with the kodak, this one is with the Casio 2900. Note the jagged edges. KJ Attachments:.

I have noticed the same jagged edges with my 2900. It definitely is not as sharp as my Olympus. This is proved out in the reviews of this camera also. I find it to be a great camera for portraits with the sharpness smoothed. And face it, what do you get for $199!..
We just purchased this digital and I was wondering how professional prints look and what quality of pic do you get?..
I looked at all the 4 megapix. cameras and decided that the casio QV 4000 was the best buy for the money. However after reading some reviews I learned that 85% of flash pictures were all underexposed; and in order to get fair exposure you had to set the flash on high intensity. This has caused a set-back for me, and Iam back to square one. Is this a defect in the camera that the experts are aware of?.
Is the problem that serious? and is there a way around it.
I do like the camera, but Iam afraid to buy a defective product.
Please help me...
Actually, if you peruse most of the threads regarding internal flash on many digital cameras you will find many people do not get the best results with internal flash. Most report problems with exposure and red-eye. My QV4000 internal flash does OK, but it does not compare to the photos where I use a Sunpak 544 external flash, especially for large areas and distances over 8'. Added advantage of external flash include; faster CA writes (don't have to wait for flash recharge) and longer battery life...
Noted your comment about the use of flash on digitalthis is a new area for me. Any idea of the Casio 4000 can accomidate an external flash? Is the probelm, not enought power kin the flash, in your opinion? Thanks..
I just ordered a 3500 from Walmart.com.
This is a savings of at least 100 dollars from anywhere else you can probably find one. A great buy. I already ordered mine, so i'm just passing along the opportunity.

Terry, I bought a QV-8000SX from Casio and it never would focus right. This was straight out the box. Casio would not honor the Warranty and wanted to charge me to fix it. I think they sale defective products. They don't stand behind their products either. If If can find enough people that have problems with Casio I'm going to contact the Attorney General's office in my state...
I have been using QV-4000 for about 3 months now and I think i've taken more than 1000+ pix with it. The color balance is good indoor and outdoor.
Yes, I do get underexposure of around 20 to 30% in P and Auto mode. But none of A S M mode gives me underexpose photo. To overcome this problem I used a wireless slave and started learning about bounce flash photography. The results is even better. Of course you can also attach external flash via PC cord.
To be fair to Casio, most digicam would gives about 20% underexpossed photo if you use built in flash. If you email me, I will sent you the photos that I have taken using QV4000..
