I would buy this camera soon. The other two options are the Pentax Optio S40 and the Nikon Coolpix 3200. But Canon A75 looks the best for me. Which should I buy? What do you think? .

Thanks!.

I own a A75 too and have been very impressed with the tons of features for such a low price camera. For this price, you get full manual control, speed priority, aperture priority, etc. which you don't get in other cameras of the same price range or megapixel count. U don't get these in the Pentax or Nikon which you are also considering. Best of all, the A75 uses AA batteries. Don't hesitate, go for it. You will love it..

I own a Canon A75 camera which was buyed from Germany. All manuals are in german and I need an english manual to take full advantage from this camera. Does anybody know from where can I dowload english manuals? .

Another question is: does this camera put the date on the picture? Where is this setting? .

Thank you in advance!.

I can email it to you if you're interested. It's 2MB+ though. And yes, you can print the date on the images (not in all modes, I think). See page 54 in manual..

Hi Rares, U can go online to Canon's website to download the English manual. Anyway, here's the link to the download. http://www.canon-asia.com/supports/CJ.html.

Hey guys...need some advice. I'm thinking of getting either the Canon A75 or A80. Which one do you think will be better overall? Any comments are welcome. THanks..

I guess that all depends on your photo experience.

I myself am looking at the exact two models ( for a travel camera companion ) If you are more of a novice photographer, then the A75 would be a better choice as it supports some pre-determined photo options for you such as photos taken by a beach, or fireworks or snow. Makes a no brainer for the settings.

On the other hand , the A80 is more for an experienced photographer, where you must decide what options to use and when it will be best effective. Such as low light conditions, action shots, night time shots etc.

I think that pretty well sums up each camera. There are a few bonus's with each as the A80 will have better resolution pics due t o it being a 4.0 mega pixel camera rather than a 3.2. Things like that. For a travel companion camera where I can take anywhere at anytime, I am leaning towards the A75. I am however considering the Canon PowerShot S1 IS as my mainstream badboy for those more memorable shots. I plan on trading in my current Fuji S5000 series camera and paying the difference for it.

Then I'll have the best of both worlds. More comments on this would be much appreciated..

Lens are perfect compare with a same sorts of cameras! Of course , you will not see the same quality as in CANON G5 with his features, but you will be nice impressed and you will buy all accesories to CANON POWERSHOT A75! Good Job CANON inc.

My question is about speed , you know already it's difficult to capture picture of children on the play ground, .

Is the A75 fast enough ?

Yes.. the camera is definately fast enough. It even comes with a highspeed mode on the camera, plus you can manually set the camera to up to 1/2000 of a second. Traveling down the highway (110 km/hr) I took some pictures of spinning wheels with the zoom on and they were crystal clear. I had some people ask me why I took pictures of still vehicles.....

Nandor, I have the Coolpix 3200 and really like it. Lots of features, easy to use, and small enough to fit into a pocket. I was able to get it for $199 US after rebate. The A75 was my second choice but was $50-80 more. Both are really good though..

Thanks to the comments I'm going to dive in and purchase the A75 and can't wait!!! .

I was told that you can buy a lens adapter to increase the optical zoom - (I think there's a small button on the front to pop the ring off!!??) .

Does anyone happen to have info regarding this feature??? Many thanks in Advance .

Tommy.

I just purchased the Canon A75. I have an Olympus battery charger and 4 Olympus AA Ni MH batteries. Can I use these with my new Canon?.

Yes. Of cource. No difference beetwen label(manufacturer) accus wich you use..

I've read that the A75 can print ID/Passport size photos when connected to the CP220/330 Canon printers. However none of the reviews confirm this. I've even downloaded the camera's manual and found nothing. Can someone confirm this feature?.
