I want to buy canon eos 450d ... but I confuse I buy Canon .. ya Nikon ...........
I have a canon 300d iam cocentrating on changing to a 450 d or axsi main for the stabalization effect. should I keep my camera, and buy a new flash and a wide angle lense please help me..
The image stabilization is in the lens, so keep your camera and buy an "IS" lens, if that's the main reason you want to upgrade..
I own a Canon Rebel 2000 camera with a generic flash mount that I tried using to my new Canon XSI. It works when I'm taking the pictures but when I go to the menu screen for the flash, it doesn't seem to recognize it. Do I have to use a Canon brand flash for the Canon XSI to be able to recognize it? What type of flash do I need to buy for this camera?.
A generic flash likely does not offer any of communication with the body, other than flash sync and charge status. It probably determines it's own exposure as well, not taking advantage of Canon's latest E-TTL II flash system. You'll want an E-TTL II compatible flash, either from Canon (430EX II, 580EX II) or a dedicated model from a 3rd party like Metz, Sigma or SunPak..

I am very intrested in photography and would like to purchase a camera. I am looking into the cannon eos rebel xsi. would this be a good starter camera for me to learn on?? and what is your opinions on refurbished cameras??.
Hi Brandy A friend of mine has the Rebel xsi and she has taken a lot of good pictures with it. For it's day, it was a KNOCKOUT value. However, if you can afford it I would suggest the Rebel T1i, instead.A little more expensive but it offers some signifigant advantages over the xsi. You're getting the same Digic iv Processor,{very fast} that the more expensive and excellent 50D has, the same 15 million pixel imager, and according to Popular Photography Magazine's test report, a slightly quicker auto focus capability. When you view the pictures on the LCD window that you've taken, it will be via screen that offers you a GORGEOUS 920,000 pixel resolution instead of the xsi's 230,000. HUGE difference. Oh and did I forget, with the T1i you can also experiment with HD video snippetsfull 1080 p at a little jerky 20 frames per second rate and silky smooth 30 frames per second recorded at a stiill excellent 720 p. I own the afore said 50-D; great camera; very fast 6.3 frames per second, quick auto focus, gorgeous picture, but no video. I bought the Rebel T1i mainly for it's video capability..
Good luck!.
