Can finepix 3800 take a night shot??
It should be fine with an f/2.8 lens and a 3 second long exposure, even at 100 ASA. Even the 2800 with a 1/2 second exposure can do this. Attachments:.

Here are some night shots taken with Finepix S304 (3800). I am still in the exploration stage of this camera, so the shots I had may not be the best of the camera's performance.

I am looking to buy my first digicam and am impressed with the price and 6X optical zoom of the FinePix3800. Can't really find any reviews on this camera though (too new?). Any user thoughts?..

Hi Julie,.

There is a coupon of the 3800 (and probably it's nearest competitor the Olympus 730) at steves-digicams.com I'm still trying to make up my mind between the two. I haven't heard anything bad in the forums about the 3800 yet but am having trouble getting feedback on the 730. The 3800 is a lot cheaper.

                            Regards.

I just bought the 3800 for $312.00 and that include shipping and taxes. I get it tomorrow. I've used the 2800 for over 2 yrs now. Plenty of reviews on search engines. The camera price has dropped very quickly on this camera. The XD chip/memory may be the reason.

I got a 2 yr 2800 for anyone who wants it.I'm a gadget nut and usually get the newest. This is the first time for me to buy fuji twice. The 2800 was and is fantastic, so I'm giving fuji 3800 a try..

I've had the 2800 for about a month and it takes great photos. I returned it and upgraded to the 3800 but have yet to print any pics taken with it. For web use this camara works great for you plus gives you a camara that you can use for normal photo taking. I have used the 3800 to take pictures and upload online and those do look great. Hope this helps...

I'm struggling between the camera store's FUJI 3800 recommendation vs a Sony to write on CD, Minolta F100 and the Canon S40....after hours of research, I continue to be confused. Goals include: lots of family shots to be printed for other members, excellent zoom and less red-eye to 'fix'. Also would like tripodable and at least 3mp...suggestions?..

Ok, I've been using the 2800 for two yrs with over 5000 photos. I upgraded to the 3800 and just got back from Thailand ( I live near SF) and shot over 1000 pictures. The new chip on the 3800 is called XD and very small. I bought the 128 meg chip at Circuit city (89.00) and found it the next day at CompUSA for 69.00. Went back to CC and they gave me 20.00 back as they match prices.

OK lots of family shots and your going to print them and NOT e mail them? I suggest you download them to a CD Writer Disk and take the Disk to your local photo dealer. Most photo shops (even Costco) will make your prints of the disk. The zoom is 6 times. NO other camera has this on a 3.1 under $350.00. The setting for red eye are easy to adjust. LIKE any new camera you have to experience with the settings.

Let me know if I can help you...Don't pay over $350.00 for this camera. I got it with tax and shipping for $316.00...ask and I will help you..Chuck.

Your night shots are fantastic. Did you use tripod? I just got back from major trip to Thailand. Shot over 1000 pictures with my 3800. I use the thru the eye to shot everything, specially in low lite. Lots of settings on the 3800 for low lite situations, which I haven't quite mastered yet..more later..
