Blurness when zooming in on a take picture
Hello.

I have a 7.1MP camera. If I look in a 27% zoom at a taken picture, the image looks just fine. But when I zoom at 50% or more, blurness appear. My question is: Is it normal?.

Thanks a lot...

I believe the risk of camera shake increases the more you zoom in. Use a tripod when at longer focal lengths...

I think this user is zooming in on a photo already taken and stored on the camera/memory card....

Is the image blurry when printed? If you zoom in on a digital image it may start to look somewhat blurry onscreen. I tend to look at the image around 50% to see how that looks...

OK, this is what I've been told and it works for me.

If you have the lighting to do it.

When you are in wide angle Your speed should be at 1/125 of a second.

If you zoom at 200mm your speed should be at 1/200 of a second.

If you zoom at 300mm your speed should be at 1/300 of a second.

There for the more you zoom the more you need speed to avoid blurr.

You eather have sunlight witch will give the the speed you need , you eather have a flash the will light up your pictures at that speed or the ultimate you get yourself a tripod put the timer at lets say 2 seconds.

Even if have a sunny day you may still need a tripodthis next piture was taken in aperture priority atF13.6speed 1/7no flashneeded to get the maximum death of field and had a polarizing filter.

Hope this helps.

Yes, if the photo is blurry to begin with. You will generally notice burry pictures more when you zoom in. If you have a tack sharp photo, you can zoom in to 100% and still have a sharp photo. If you have a slightly soft photo, you may not notice the softness until you zoom in more...

If you do the following- assume a 70-300mm zoom. you start and focus at 70mm, the image is in focus and fine, THEN you zoom to 300mm and the image is not in focus. that is what I think you are saying. then what you have is called a variofocus zoom lens not a true zoom. the variofocus type requires refocus at every different zoom position while the true zoom the focus dos not change no matter the position of the zoom. it is far cheaper to make a variofocus lens than a true zoom.

It would only make a difference looking through the viewfinder...
