A lot of people seem to think an ultrawide lens is necessary for interiors..
Usually, but not always, they are wrong..
Unless the room is really big, and there are important things on all sides, you can usually use a lens around (in Nikon terms,) around 18 - 24mm..

That's a fisheye lens. It has a 180 degree view but the distortion is enormous. Of course, you can "de-fish" it in software but one of your requirements was low distortion..
And I don't know what flash you can use with a fisheye..
You may get the best results from stitching with a more normal lens like a 24mm..

The problem is, while in 9 out of 10 cases an ordinary 17/18 mm wide angle lens will be adequate, what do you do on the occasions when it's not? As anyone who has tried it knows, making panos of interiors is not entirely straightforward so that's not a good option (unless, perhaps, it is *very* infrequent)..
I don't know enough about Nikon lenses to make a specific recommendation, but Sigma's 12-24 is very good, and about the same price as the fisheye that the OP was considering, so there certainly are options out there...
Nikon has nothing below 14 with no distorsion..
Also someone said that lighting would be a problem, well you need aditionall flash (SB-400 at least) at bounce for a perfect picture...

The widest non-fish eye would be the Sigma 10-20mm. Others are the Nikon 12-24 and the Tokina 12-24 (much cheaper than the Nikon)..
