You ought to take a look at the places that advertise/support this site. At least comparison shop. Even if you pay a few dollars more, at least you will support this great site!..

Whatever online comparisons you make be sure to includehttp://www.resellerratings.com in your research. Sometimes too-good-to-be-true prices are just that..

Maybe the online market is stronger in the US, but my experience here in Australia was -.

I researched my camera and lens choice on the internet (combined of course with "hands on" in some camera stores). I also gathered prices on the Net..

Then I went in to my favourite camera store, showed the BEST prices I could find on the Net, and said "I'd like to buy this gear from you, if you can match these prices.".

The guy just laughed and promptly beat every price by at least 5%..

Don't assume that online prices will automatically be the best, and don't dismiss the idea of buying from someone you can talk to face to face whrn you have a problem or question..

But, as I said, maybe online pricing is more competitive in the US.....

Two of my favorite places to buy from are Beach Camera and Buy Dig. Other places that I've ordered from like to call and harass you to buy accessories that don't even go with your camera..

For example -.

"So you'll need some rechargeable AA's for that Canon SD700, only $39.99".

Lol...AA's for a powershot...what a fun conversation that was. .

Haha!.

When I bought my SB-600 flash, I walked away and then realised....

I walked back to the store, fronted the sales assistant with a smile, and said "You forgot something.".

"Oh, what?".

"You forgot to say 'would you like batteries with that, sir?'".

Sales assistant slapped forehead and said "well, at least you can't accuse me of being pushy!".
