Attn BAK - Collage software?
BAK,.

In your "Photoshop is silly" response you said the following.

I have people who do Photoshopping for me; they've been doing this for more than >a decade. And I use Elements myself, which will do everything important Photoshop >will do, for photographers. For collage artists and illustrators, Photographop is more >useful;..

What is the proper name of the software? I would like to give it a try, since lately I am getting more work involving all of the silly collage stuff (I can't believe parents buy this hoaky stuff...).

I tried doing a search on the term you typed, but came up zero..

Thx in advance!.

I posed this question to a response of yours:.

Proper layer masks instead of havng to fake them in.

ELements,.

How do you fake layer masks in Elements? I use Photoshop CS1, but I have a couple of friends who use Elements and would love to be able to selectively apply the effects of some functions (Unsharp Mask for example)..

Links on how to fake layer masks by group the layer with an adjustment layer that contains a mask (such as levels, fill, etc):http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/...rsity/tutorials/PSE_MaskBlendEP.shtmlhttp://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/qt/layermasks.htm.

Here is a link to download an action that you does the same thing:http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/p/layermasks.htm..

Thank you for the links; I have one question. It seems using this method that I end up with a "reveal all" layer mask. Is there any way to create a "hide all" mask?.

Thank you again. I can easily get a hide all mask by dropping in a black fill on the adjustment layer..

Or you could just invert the mask (ctl-I) and brush with the opposite (X) color...
