Any Fuji FinePix 2800 Reviews?
Did anyone purchase this camera yet? Thinking about buying, but there are no reviews on it anywhere! Looked at it in the store, but they wouldn't let me print out a pic. Does anyone know of any reviews?..

I have considered this camera, but one aspect of it scares me away: Red-eye. Since I shoot family snapshots as well as travel photos, I can't have a camera without red-eye reduction. Checking around, I found the comments at: www.dpreview.com/reviews/read_opinions.asp?prodkey=fuji_finepix2800z Unless I can receive some reassurances that other advanced amatuer photographers are not having these problems, I can't buy this camera...

Hello Dan, Yes I have had my Fuji 2800Zoom for about 2 months. It does have red eye reduction. Just select red eye reduction from the flash menu, which is very simple and easy. The software that comes with it also has red eye remove capabilities. I am very pleased with the Fuji 2800Zoom. This is my first digital camera.

I bought the Mr. Flash 128 smart media from newegg.com for $46 plus $5 shipping fee. It was worth it, works perfect in the Fuji 2800Zoom. I also use my Fuji2800Zoom to take short movies. They play back using QuickTime very nicely.

A number of people have commented on my camera, that they like how compact and sleek it looks. I bought this camera because it had a 6x optical zoom and the others in this price range had only 3x optical zoom. The Fuji 2800Zoom also has a digital zoom, but digital zoom is nowhere as good as optical zoom. I get terrific 4x6 and 5x7 pictures. I am positive I'd also get terrific 8x10 or even 20x30 pictures, but I have simply not tried anything bigger than 5x7 yet.

Cheers, and Happy Holidays.

Jeff..

Hi Jeff,.

I'm Dan Watson, caught your response (Dec) to someone and I too, am interested in the Fuji fine pix 2800,.

But am worried of the slow ISO 100 ( I think it automatically pushes to 150 in darker lite?).

I take indoor, low lite pixs of gettogethers...after ball games in pubs and little action sports of friends-BMX races.

So, have you used yours in super low lite and action sports?.

Thanks,.

Dan.

Ps...I just posted similar questions...just found this terrific site...

Does this camera's movie recording capture audio as well? it's confusing since most posts here says yes it does capture sound while recording short movies but fuji site says MOVIE RECORDING-Yes, AUDIO RECORDING-No, (But) VOICE CAPTIONING-Yes. reference: home.fujifilm.com/products/digital/compare.html hope you expert guys and those who already own one out there can clarify these.... many thanks!!!..

Errol http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/fuji/finepix2800-review/index.html.

There you will find a good coupon and a sample .avi movie which apparently comes with sound (fujifilm.com compare page 'webmaster' obviously mad a mistake as it's plastered all over that: it has sound) but at 10ftps how good is it?.

And dose it jump dark to light like it dose in my Kodak DX3600? Thank you.....

I am thinking of buying this digital camera. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this camera...battery consumption, image quality at various setup, movie quality, speed of operation such as start up etc... Thanks...

Hi... I got mine for Christmas and have litterally taken pictures almost every day since! I LOVE it.The battery life is very good for me so far. I take probably 150 or more shots per charge. ( I have rechargable batteries)I usually use the FINE setting on the highest resolution for GREAT print quality. The movie quality is alittle too dark inside, but outside it is pretty good. The zoom on it is wonderful! I think you will be very pleased with this camera!..
