The 680B monopod can be converted by removing the bottom foot and using the hex screw to attache the adapter insert for the legs....

So I would simply remove the last leg and replace it with the attachment?.
From the pictures it looked like it screwed up inside the last leg..

It does you remove the rubber insert from the 680B third leg extension and the leg assembly's socket x FPT housing is slid over the hollow leg; attached with a hex screw. The legs' assembly is attached to a MPT that attaches to the socket x FPT....

I tried twisting the rubber end off to take a look but it seems on for life?.
