35 mm lens
I would like to get a fairly good digital camer and was wondering if the lens from my 35 mm camera will fit it?..

What camera and lens do you currently have?.

Unfortunately there is not a uniform standard for lens mounts. Each camera manufacturer has a different mount, respectively even cameras from the same manufacturer may have different lens mounts, depending on age and camera system..

So in order to get an answer to your question and to find out which *new* camera your lens would fit on, you would have to provide this info..

Secondly, good camera is relative. The best camera is not the one that has the most impressive technical specs, but the one that will suit you needs the best..

Cheers,becksi.

It depends. We will need to know more about the lens - eg what brand / which type mount it is...

The 35 mm camera I have is a Yashika and I have two telephoto lens and the macro lens...

As far as I know yashica only ever did manual focus - to fit on the contax/yashica mount..

Unfortunately there are no dslrs that support this mount..

You may be able to get an adaptor to fit the lens on a modern camera, but you will of course not have AF, and may also lose aperture control as well..

It may be more cost effective to pick up a kit zoom with your new dslr and say good bye to your manual focus kit. But of course the choice is yours...

That's my situationno DSLR uses Canon FD-mount lenses. When my dad and I jumped into photography in the early 1980s, he bought a Canon AE-1 Program and I bought a Pentax MG. He convinced me to trade the Pentax for a Canon so we could share lenses and accessories. Twenty-five years later, I'm kicking myself for not trying to convince him to go to Pentax instead back then!..

You can get adapters for Contax/Yashica mount to Canon EOS or Olympus E series. Of course this will be manual focus and stop-down metering (i.e. you have to stop down the lens aperture to meter, open up to focus, close down again to shoot)..

Seen in a fortune cookie:Fear is the darkroom where negatives are developed..
